Teachers at Cambridge ESOL preparation centres are being invited to showcase their movie making skills in a new competition which can win them a trip to Cambridge in July 2012.

The Cambridge ESOL 2012 preparation centre competition is asking teachers to submit a 90-second video of their experiences of teaching Cambridge English in their countries. Launching the competition, Cambridge ESOL’s Mariana Calderon said:

“Each year our preparation centres play a huge role in raising the standard of English in their countries and each has a different story to tell. We’re looking for inspiring and interesting stories captured on film from our network of Cambridge English teachers around the world.”

Teachers interested in taking part must have an intermediate level of English and should answer at least two of the following questions when making their film:
  • How have Cambridge English exams helped you in achieving your goals?

  • Why did you choose to work with Cambridge ESOL?

  • What is your preparation centre’s history?

  • Are there any particular success stories of your candidates (past and present) who have taken Cambridge English exams?

  • Are there creative and interesting ways in which you incorporate Cambridge English learning materials in your candidate preparation?

The ten best videos will win a professional development trip to Cambridge in July 2012 – which includes a visit to the head office of University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL) to take part in a range of talks and seminars. There are also 25 runners up prizes – a membership to the new Cambridge English Teacher website (to be launched early 2012).

Entries must be received by 30 January 2011 and you must be a preparation centre registered on Cambridge ESOL Online. To find out more about the competition, please watch the following video.
